The Potomac Valley Dressage Association (PVDA) Ride for Life dressage show™ is a 2-day licensed dressage show and benefit. This unique event combines dressage competitors and beautiful horses with raising money for breast cancer research on behalf of the Johns Hopkins Avon Foundation Breast Cancer Center. This year it will take place at the Prince Georges Equestrian Center Showplace Arena on June 28 -29, 2008. The PVDA invites your company to please join us and help sponsor the event for a wonderful cause!
The PVDA founded the Ride for Life™ in 2004. This annual event has grown rapidly and, during the past 4 years, we have raised more than $81,000 for breast cancer research while promoting breast cancer awareness. Last year, the PVDA added the Dancing Horse Challenge to the event, where FEI- level riders perform on Saturday evening at the PG Equestrian Center Showplace Arena. This special event alone attracted 1,200 visitors in 2007.
This year the Ride for Life™ is expected to be even better attended. Between classes, attendees can shop from a great selection of specialty vendors exhibiting on the show grounds and the Arena concourse. Vendors offer wares from tack, feed and riding apparel to books, fine art, jewelry and home decor. Attendees can also bid on many unique and valuable items and services in the Silent Auction.
The PVDA Ride for Life dressage show and the Dancing Horse Challenge are well marketed on our website, in local publications and radio. The 2007 show was covered by major equestrian publications including USDF Connection and Dressage Today. In addition to print publications, the 2008 Dancing Horse Challenge will be filmed by Dressage Clinic.com.
Sponsorship opportunities at the Ride for Life™ offer your company a highly visible opportunity to demonstrate concern about breast cancer research and awareness and to support the community. This event reaches a large and affluent population with your marketing message. The attendees include the long-established mid-Atlantic equestrian community and a highly-educated group of consumers with above average-income. Since it is marketed as a family-oriented event, sponsors and vendors will gain access to markets for both equestrian and non-equestrian products and services. The Gala dinner held in conjunction with the Dancing Horse Challenge provides an opportunity to entertain clients and investors in a different and fun setting.
