Claudia Sands, a PVDA and USEF member, dressage rider and breast cancer survivor plans to participate in the 2012 Ride for Life with her horse Donatello. She got her first tattoo after moving back to the East Coast in the fall of 2011 as an active duty Air Force member. Her tattoo is on her left shoulder and represents the PVDA Ride for Life logo. Claudia fell in love with the PVDA Ride for Life logo after seeing it a couple years ago for the first time. She is a breast cancer survivor having bilateral mastectomies (as did her mother) and as Claudia states “the horses and my barn family are always what get me through it and get me laughing again.” To read more about Claudia’s breast cancer journey, see the “stories” page.
