Starting in 2007, the PVDA Ride for Life has been held at the Prince George's Equestrian Center and The Showplace Arena in Upper Marlboro, Maryland. Equestrians from all over the world know that the Prince George's Equestrian Center and Show Place Arena offer every comfort and convenience for show managers, exhibitors, and spectators alike. The state-of-the-art facilities, convenient location, and hospitality guarantee equestrian events that are a pleasure to compete in and attend.

THE INDOOR ARENA

 

The indoor facility boasts of internationally acclaimed footing. The show ring measures 120 x 240 feet, enough for any equestrian discipline to work in comfortably.

 

The climate-controlled arena is perfect for every season and equipped with a public address and light systems, fully meeting industry standards. They have a dot matrix scoreboard for all types of equestrian events to include numeric judging programs. Seating for 3,000 is comfortable and unobstructed.

 

Exhibitors can take advantage of the easy ground level access through our vehicular ramp at the rear of the building. They have a show management office located right inside the ramp and an in-house box office and ticketing system. There is vendor space on the concourse and 5 private suites. The private suites can be used in many ways including sponsor seating or as a boutique.

 

Spectators have the perfect view from any seat in the house and are close enough to feel part of the competition. The Maryland-National Capital Park & Planning Commission fully complies with the Americans with Disabilities Act in making accommodations to promote and encourage participation.

 

 

OUTDOOR FACILITIES

 

The modern outdoor facilities offer permanent stabling for 240 horses. they have three regulation-size outdoor rings with adjacent schooling rings. Two of the rings measure 150 x 300 feet, the other measures 140 x 280 feet. The show secretary's booth has a public address system that reaches both the show rings and barns with capabilities to be hooked up to the infield. The facility offers camp sites with electricity as well as lunging areas and wash rack facilities.
